Sticky Pork Dinner

As I've mentioned, my sweet is a bit of a picky eater. So, when I make something he likes, it's sure to be a recipe I keep making! One of those is a recipe I got from the Mini Manor blog:
blog.http://www.maillardvillemanor.com/2011/09/meal-plan-monday-sticky-pork.html

I've made it twice now and both times were a hit! The first time, we rolled it up in cabbage leaves and ate it that way. My sweet was not a fan of the cabbage leaf and requested rice next time. Sooo, the second time we had it with rice. I did broccoli, pot stickers, and wontons on the side. It was nummy!

Here's the recipe:

1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1.5 Pounds Ground Pork
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup fried shallots, sliced
2 thai red chilies, sliced
1 tbsp Lime Juice
1/2 tsp brown sugar
4 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tsp soy sauce

1) Pour oil in pan- fry shallots, hot peppers and garlic until crispy. Remove from pan.
2) Add  a bit more oil to the pan, fry up ground pork, when almost cooked add the remaining ingredients (brown sugar, lime juice, soy sauce and hoisin sauce, fried shallots, garlic and hot peppers from step 1).

The recipe above is how I made it. If you visit the Mini Manor Blog link she has suggestions for different amounts of some of the ingredients.
