Marm on Monday

My sweet and I call each other Marm, or Mar Mar sometimes. Don't ask why, we just do. It's what people in love do- you just have no possible way to show or describe how much you love the other so crazy things come out when you try!

Anyway... my sweet and I both had off of work today- which rarely happens. We spent the day as love birds. The bakery in town opened back up after being closed for a few months so we went there for some donuts for breakfast- be jealous Chan and Zach! They were sooooo delicious. After our donuts, we met with the Pastor who is officiating at our wedding ceremony. It was so great! He helped us outline the order of things and gave us some things we need to come up with- readings, microphones, and some recessional music. Good thing I have an uber talented brother in law who can probs help us out in the recessional dept!

The next part of our day we went and had lunch with some friends... and saw this little bundle of joy!
Baby B... such a cutie!

We continued on to Nelsons. What is Nelsons, you ask? It's the yummiest ice cream place ever! They have sooo many different flavors to choose from and you get a ton of ice cream. Would you like proof? Here it is....
We share a child's size waffle cone! My sweet got Superman and I got Peppermint Bon Bon.
We ate it down by the water in Stillwater and then went for a walk.

Lastly, we went and looked at some land we've been thinking about buying! We kind of love it. It's secluded, surrounded by trees, and has more than enough room for our little cottage we want to build. Plus a garden, of course! Here are some pics... tell me what you think!
This is looking at where we think we would build the house
This would be looking out the front.

That's behind where the garage would be. The neighbor has a real big garden... maybe we can barter?!

To the left is where my garden would go.

And now we're home just enjoying each other. We finished putting our wedding invitations together and will send them out on Wednesday! Soooo excited!!!! I'll do a post on them once all of my guests receive them- I want them to be surprised!

That's it for Marm on Monday... don't you wish you had a Marm on Monday, too? I'm just lucky...

Crabapple Tree Flowers

While my sweet and I were at my parent's house last week, I couldn't stop looking at their Crabapple Tree. It was beautiful. Pinks and reds, with the beautiful green scenery around it. Those are the kinds of things that make me say, "thank you." I just couldn't leave without getting myself some! I wish I would have thought to take a picture of the actual tree with the beautiful setting... but hey, I'm no pro at this blogging thing yet! Also, I'm no pro at lighting in pictures yet! If anyone has advice on how not to have my pics be yellowish tinted when I take them inside- hook a sista up! Anyway...  I hope you find these flowers as beautiful as I do.

Hobbies- Day 2

Continuing on with hobbies....

Crafts: Mine usually don't turn out as good as the one I am trying to replicate, but it feels so good to give someone a gift I made. I am always so proud to say, "I made it!" Usually, I get so excited I tell the person (my sister mostly) what the present is before I even give it. Wait, that's not just with homemade gifts, that's with all gifts- sorry Chan! Speaking of my sister.

Here we are in a bathtub... ahh parade of homes, how fun!

And here we are at her wedding reception. Isn't she the most beautiful bride?

Back to crafts! I made this apron for a Christmas present...

Houses: Can you consider houses a hobby? I do! I love everything having to do with houses- floor plans, furniture, paint colors, windows, kitchens (don't get me started on kitchens), floor coverings and the list could go on and on. The parade of homes is one of my favorite things to do each year- twice a year! Besides dreaming up my future house, I enjoy cleaning the one I have and trying to find inexpensive ways to make it better. I'll share them as I do them...

I'm sure I have more hobbies, but I think that's enough about me!

Oh, wait, I do have 1 more hobby. The most important one!
Loving my sweet!

A little about me

Alrighty, post # 2... I'm going to talk a little about me!

I am a twenty five year old soon to be bride. If you hadn't gathered from my first post- I'm pretty excited about getting married! While our wedding is consuming  a lot of my time, there are other things I get excited about too!

Baking: My sister and I always say she is the cook and I am the baker. Pies, cookies, cakes, candy, anything... you name it I like (or would like) to bake it. I usually use a recipe the first time and then make a note about things I would change and make my changes for the next time. One of the things I love about baking is that my Sweet loves sweets! So, I get lots of compliments when I bake something... anything to make my man happy!
Oatmeal cream pie... yummy!

Cooking: I love to cook! Every nationality, from scratch, in my house, with my sister, mom, or mother in law. When I cook with "the girls" we usually try something new, healthy, and more "fru fru" as my sweet would put it. It's great! Cooking for my fiance is another story- he likes ground beef, bbq, hot dogs, and chicken strips. Hmmm not exactly at the top of my list. Soooo I try to come up with variations of those things on a nightly basis so we both like dinner. We're all about making dinner at home and then taking leftovers for lunch in this house. I'll be posting about some of these dinners as they come up...

Nature: Love it, appreciate it, and am so very thankful for it! Between biking, playing, and hiking outdoors we try to be out there as much as possible. Something else I love to do outside is garden! My Dad and I have a garden every year just a few miles from my house. It's great to spend some time with him and grow delicious vegetables for us to eat! I'll be doing posts on the garden for sure...

More hobbies to come tomorrow!

Oh, and as I promised- an introduction to my Sweet!

Isn't he handsome?! He loves music, playing guitar, italian beef sandwiches, hot dogs (chicago style), adventures, and numbers. Oh, and I forgot to mention Pokemon... yep, my 25 year old fiance loves Pokemon! There could be worse things... I love him so stinkin' much!

My first post

Hello hello, my name is Danielle and this is my first post! How exciting! I've been wanting to start a blog for a long time now, but honestly, I didn't think my life was interesting enough. That is until, I got ENGAGED! Woop Woop, that's right engaged. And my wedding is only 63 days away!!

You can expect me to post about: wedding plans, cooking/baking, anything food related, crafts, housework, homes, and my family.

I'm hoping to get into a "groove" of posting and when that happens I'd like to have specific days for specific types of posts. I'm a structured kind of girl! The only sort of structure I know for sure is a little guest post each Friday from my Mother in Law to be, and my own very wise Mommy (who said you have to be old to be wise?).

Come back tomorrow for a post introducing my very handsome fiance (only my fiance for 63 more days.. and then he will be MY HUSBAND!) and myself in a little more detail.

I really do hope you come back and check out this little blog of mine soon! And please, leave a comment including your blog address... I'm always looking for new blogs to check out!
