Marm on Monday: Our Minimoon

I guess I'll start from the end... work my way back? Right after we got married we went on a "Minimoon." We literally walked off the boat and got into our car and drove away! It was great (thanks to everyone who stayed and cleaned up so we could go)! On that Saturday night we drove 4 hours and that got us to Crandon, WI. We didn't have a lot of choices in where to stay. All of the towns we were driving through were unincorporated. Super small... such a pretty drive!

Hmmmmm......

On Sunday, we drove the other 5 hours to our destination- Mackinac Island! We took a ferry from Mackinaw City, MI to Macinac Island.

 The island does not allow any motors/engines so it was all horses and bikes!

We walked to our bed and breakfast and checked in.

Then, we went to Island Slice for dinner. We're classy like that.

The next day, we woke up and rented a tandem bike! The island was only 8 miles around, so we biked around the whole island in an hour!

After our bike ride, we were hungry! So, we stopped at Turtles Soup and Salad (which was also connected to a burger joint- my Husband was happy) and got lunch. 

Then, we spent the rest of the day walking around the island learning about the history and stopping in the little shops. It was just bliss. I was a happy newlywed and I just wanted to yell to everyone, "I'm a wife!!!" Obvs I didn't... my sweet would have killed me!

Like I said, there are no engines so the horses haul everything off the ferry

Downtown Mackinac

We woke up early on Tuesday and headed home! It was a wonderful little get away with my new Husband and we can't wait to go on more trips as a married couple!
