Garden

Well, we finally got the garden planted a few weekends ago. And boy, was it hard work! I met my parents out at the garden at 9:00am and we didn't leave until about 12:30pm! It was hot, sunny, and a perfect day to be outside enjoying nature and soaking up summer! By soaking up summer, I mean I wore SPF 70 and a sun hat to shield my face from the sun. Hey, who said you can't enjoy summer and still be the whitest girl on the block?

We planted sooo many vegetables this year! I can't wait to start seeing them grow; and, most of all, eat them! We've got: red, white, and yellow onions, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, kale, lettuce, green beans, peas, tomatoes (4 different varieties), green pepper, yellow pepper, jalapeno pepper, thai chile pepper, cucumbers, zucchinis, squash, and carrots. I'm sure I'm forgetting something... I have it all written down on the back of a box. Once I get that transferred onto graph paper and have it all mapped out, I will share that with you. But, for now... you'll just have to deal with some action shots of getting the garden started.

Weeding... by far the worst part!

We take a stake at each end and tie a piece of string to each to make a straight line.
